Thai Massage is a unique type of massage therapy. This bodywork or body manipulation is usually done on the floor in a spa or parlor. It is performed with the client fully clothed and uses many yoga and massage techniques to provide deep stretching and relaxation. The therapist uses his or her body against the other person's body to stretch, relax and achieve a deep tissue massage. This demonstration is a technique called Thai Yoga Massage.

Poor posture and a slouched, slumped back can contribute to a wealth of physical dysfunction and pain in the back, hips, butt, thighs, legs, arms, shoulders, neck, hands, and well... you get the idea. In this video, Christie Powell, head of physical therapy at Catz Austin, explains how poor posture can cause low back pain and other issues like carpal tunnel and sciatica. This video and the rest of the series will give you easy tips and exercises to allevaite pain and discomfort.
Often when we are sitting at the computer, watching TV or movies, playing video games, and driving, we slump into poor posture and a curved spine. This exerts pressure throughout the entire body and over time will severely weaken the shoulders and back so that sitting correctly becomes uncomfortable. The only way to improve posture is to begin changing your habits and to try and get in the habit of reminding yourself to sit up straight. A posture-buddy at work is a great idea so you can keep reminding each other, or you can set a timer or alarm on your desk.

In this free video presented by AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas, Master Li Junfeng demonstrates the first qigong technique of this series, a movement that begins any qigong practice. You can follow along at home.
In addition to the physical fitness benefits of most exercise routines (improved circulation, weight loss, etc.) Sheng Zhen Qigong also offers mental and spiritual benefits such as stress relief, a calm mind, and an ability to handle stressful or painful situations.
Junfeng Li is perhaps best known as having been the head coach of the world-renowned Beijing Wushu (Martial Arts) Team and National Wushu Team of the People's Republic of China. Under his leadership, the Beijing Wushu Team consistently won first place in national and international competitions for over 12 years, elevating the standards of excellence and quality worldwide. He is the principle teacher of Sheng Zhen Wuji Yuan Gong. Li also serves as special advisor to the World Academic Society of Medical Qigong and the Qigong Science Research Association of China. He has taught in more than 20 countries and has instructed at AOMA since 2002.
AOMA Graduate School offers a master's-level graduate program in acupuncture and Oriental medicine. AOMA also conducts more than 20,000 patient visits annually in its student and professional clinics. AOMA includes traditional Asian mind-body practices such as tai chi and qigong as an integral part of the curriculum and is one of very few acupuncture schools to begin clinical education for students in the first term.
