Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or spastic colon is a functional bowel disorder characterized by abdominal pain and changes in bowel habits which are more... not associated with any abnormalities seen on routine clinical testing. It is fairly common and makes up 20--50% of visits to gastroenterologists. Lower abdominal pain, and bloating associated with alteration of bowel habits and abdominal discomfort relieved with defecation are the most frequent symptoms.
IBS is highly prevalent in the Western world, but despite the advancement of many theories, no clear cause has yet been established.
Stress—feeling mentally or emotionally tense, troubled, angry, or overwhelmed—may trigger symptoms in people with IBS. One study found that women with IBS are more likely to report prior physical or sexual abuse; almost half of the patients reported prior abuse.
IBS is not fatal nor is it linked to the development of other serious bowel diseases. However, due to the chronic pain, discomfort, and other symptoms, work absenteeism, social phobias, and other negative quality-of-life effects can be common in more serious cases. Individuals who find a caring primary caregiver and/or sufficient self-help options should be able to develop a successful treatment program for their symptoms and lead normal lives.

Dr. John Breeding, Ph.D. Psychologist, talks about depression. In this video he discusses the how psychology and psychiatry differ from their approach to depression. Is depression really a chemical imbalance in the brain or a psychological problem? Often time people are given antidepressants like Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Luvox, Celexa, Lexapro, Effexor or Wellbutrin.
SSRI (Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) are often promoted as correcting chemical imbalances in the brain but there is no proof that depression or mental illness is caused by chemical imbalances in the brain nor is there any proof that antidepressants correct an imbalance. These medications often time have horrible side effects like agitation and sexual dysfunction.
This is a different view of depression.
In this video Dr. Breeding will discuss tips on how to recover from depression, become a more happy person.

Dr. John Breeding, Ph.D. Psychologist discusses symptoms of severe mental states such as catatonia and hallucination. This is psychological view of schizophrenia.
Are extreme states of mind like schizophrenia biological mental illnesses or psychological disorders?
What is the best hope for recovery for someone suffering from such an extreme state of mind? Can these people be treated with psychology or do such states require psychiatry and medication?
Often these states are drugged with antipsychotic medications such as Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Geodon, Haldol, Thorazine, Stelazine and Clozaril. All of these drugs are used to control symptoms only. They are not cure for mental disorders. They all have an unknown mechanism of action. Some have side effects and adverse events that can cause permanent neurological damage, movement disorders, diabetes, weight gain, impaired cognitive functioning.

Defective drug legislation is big right now. Pharma is rapidly becoming the next big tobacco but on a much grander scale.
Class action lawsuits with 10,000s of victims are lashing out against drug firms while even State governments level more lawsuits against them.
Law firms are suing pharmaceutical companies for unethical marketing practices, a failure to warn the public about potentially harmful and sometimes deadly side effects when they were known about prior to marketing, downplaying side effects while hyping up benefits, etc.
If you have been damaged by a medication you can potentially sue and in most cases lawyers will take your case for free.
Some drugs that are listed on law office websites as defective drugs include; Vioxx, Bextra, Celebrex, Crestor, Baycol, Viagra, Cialis, Risperdal, Seroguel, Zyprexa, Adderall, Ritalin, Neurotin, Paxil, Prozac, Ambien, Zoloft.
Some defective drugs have been associated with death, suicide, homicide, neurological damage, heart attacks, diabetes, excessive weight gain, sexual dysfunction, impertinency, vision loss and a host of other side effects.
Virtually every psychotropic (psychiatric) drug is listed on some defective drug website including antidepressants, antipsychotic, anti-anxiety medications (anxiolytics), etc.
Drug companies that are being sued include Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, Janssen, Abbott, Novartis, Wyeth, etc.
You can get a free legal consultations just by doing a search with the drug name and the world lawyer.

This is a discussion of logic and thinking and its relationship to observation. More specifically this deals with the philosophy of Epistemology (the philosophy of knowledge and truth).
I am basically an empiricist.
In philosophy generally, empiricism is a theory of knowledge emphasizing the role of experience in the formation of ideas.
Empiricism was the philosophy which formed the basis for the scientific method. It is the foundation of modern science.
This leads into a discussion of religion, agnosticism, theism and atheism.
